Ian Hunter (seen here "cycling" in France) Ian was the national rowing coach for Zimbabwe for 15 years, and moved to Scotland in 2002. He is certified to teach FISA Level 1 and 2 coaching courses. Ian kindly supplied our nutrition and ergometer pages. Click HERE for a description of the 2001 Victoria Falls regatta in which he took part (.pdf file). There's nothing like a crocodile in the river to get a boat moving quickly! |

Susanne Standish-Hunter (left) has represented Zimbabwe at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics, and competed in World Championships in Tasmania, Vienna and St. Catherines. Off the water she also coaches, and like Ian is also certified to teach FISA level 1 and 2 coaching courses. Susanne's Dramatic Arts background showed when she encouraged the Novice Men to think of rowing as "ballet on the water".....and it's the thought that counts!. |

Mandy Towrie (right) has completed the SARA bronze course twice. She specialises in the advancement of Sculling technique. |

Hazel Smith (Stroke in this picture) is renowned for her plain speaking (i.e. she tells it "as she sees it"). She currently coaches both the Novice Men and the Novice Women. Hazel had a very sucessful medal haul in last years masters event in Prague (details on the news page). Avoid a right hook from her at all costs! |
